The holy week has passed and Happy Easter to all.
I remember when we were young, during holy week or semana santa, we are told to stop our usual kids play and just stay at indoors. Our parents would bring us to church on Holy Thursday for the Last Supper Mass and the next day, a Good Friday, we attend the long Procession of the Stations of the Cross and followed by the Siete Palabras in the afternoon. It was our family's yearly Catholic tradition until after graduating from college.
It has been several years now since I last attended the Last Supper Mass, the stations of the cross and the Siete Palabras but that has not diminish my faith to the Lord. After working in Manila for quite a time now. Not because I did not want to, but the industry that I worked for requires us to work even the holiest holidays this country celebrates.
For almost 8 years, I worked at night and sleep during the day. I am a call center agent. I battled 7 loneliest Christmas and New year's celebration but it never tore me into pieces. In fact, it made me realize there is far more better then these celebrations.
If we put God, the center of our lives, our life will be more meaningful.
