CHRISTMAS will never be the same!

They say Christmas is the time to be merry. A time to share gifts for a bountiful year. It is a time where love, family and togetherness reign. It is time when most people should be happy and celebrate.

But you see, not in this part of my country. After the flash floods that happened in Cagayan de Oro and Iligan, Philippines, where nearly a thousand people perished and went missing, I can't help but think how those people who survive will celebrate their Christmas. Maybe not, or maybe never again. The rampage happened in the middle of night killing families, men, women and children, young and old in their deep slumber only to wake up facing their worst nightmare--- DEATH. Death, like a lightning bolt, has claimed the lives of those innocent, as if trying to meet a quota. In a matter of seconds, DEATH took away God's creation. Oh heavens, I am crying while writing this blog. I just realized tragedies like this happen almost every end of the year.  Dear Lord protect us!

Let's offer our prayers to those who survived this catastrophic event. I pray that they may be able to move on thankful for their second life. And pray to those who perished, May God Bless their souls and may they rest in Peace!

Summer Rain

It's the middle of May, and yet, it never failed to rain here in Surigao. There were days of hot temperatures - 33 degrees C- but suddenly all hell breaks loose,a heavy downpour of rain makes up the normal weather cycle, at least for this side of the country.

I can't help but think of indulging myself into a nice treat of Mango halo-halo, or drinking an ice-cold soft-drink. Oh well, that's summer here, it can be weird but that's nature's call.

Later, I'll be off to see former high school friends for a few beers. Please rain, just go away!!

Happy Easter everyone!

The holy week has passed and Happy Easter to all.

I remember when we were young, during holy week or semana santa, we are told to stop our usual kids play and just stay at indoors. Our parents would bring us to church on Holy Thursday for the Last Supper Mass and the next day, a Good Friday, we attend the long Procession of the Stations of the Cross and followed by the Siete Palabras in the afternoon. It was our family's yearly Catholic tradition until after graduating from college.

It has been several years now since I last attended the Last Supper Mass, the stations of the cross and the Siete Palabras but that has not diminish my faith to the Lord. After working in Manila for quite a time now. Not because I did not want to, but the industry that I worked for requires us to work even the holiest holidays this country celebrates.

For almost 8 years, I worked at night and sleep during the day. I am a call center agent. I battled 7 loneliest Christmas and New year's celebration but it never tore me into pieces. In fact, it made me realize there is far more better then these celebrations.

If we put God, the center of our lives, our life will be more meaningful.

Let's Pray for Japan.

The world is glued on Television news on the looming crisis in Japan. After the quake and tsunami that killed hundreds of people and thousands still missing, there is another problem hitting the rich Asian nation. The nuclear plants in Fukushima are the cause of scare not just in Japan but also other parts of the world.

Let us all pray that God will carry us all through this crisis. Let's all pray for all the souls who were swept away by the tsunami. May the people of Japan find comfort in their belief that life is not a permanent gift. God lent us life for us to live it to the fullest and for all the good things on earth we should make it useful.

God Bless Japan. God bless us all.

Now, the agony of waiting... I need a job.

It's been a month since I had that interview with an expat from the placement agency I applied for a job with.
It took only three days to know that I was one of the 14 selected Filipinos to work for an online retail store based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

I finished complying to all requirements including the medical exams. By February 17, I was told that my visa is now being processed by my employer in Saudi Arabia. There was no time frame as to how many days or weeks I will have to wait. I was just told to wait for their call when the visa is ready.

So I decided to go home here in my city of Surigao while waiting for their call. But until now, I'm still waiting.

It can be somewhat a little depressing to note that people in the Middle East are going to the streets in protest against their governments and Saudi Arabia is no immune to such protest by their own people. But yet Saudi government is taking it under their control. Hopefully, this will not escalate to something really major!

I am positive that all of this chaos will end soon.

God Bless the middle East..God Bless the whole world.

Love life

I asked myself today, why am I like this? I answered, I don't know. Is this too much love or an exaggerated infatuation with someone I thought I really love. Am I loving and caring too much or less? Nobody can answer me that, not even him.

I thought love is not only giving but also sharing what you both have? Hey, it's not happening in my situation. If I am asked if I love him? I would quickly say yes. I won't be staying for more than three years if I don't. I went leaps and bounce just to get this far.

But I'm having second thoughts now. Everything is different from three years ago. I thought it was fine then but as this relationship continued, it was never the same again.

Haayyy(sighing). I hope this is just a dream. I hope I'll be okey.
